100 Km OF VOLUNTEERS AND ASSISTENCE
More than 500 volunteers are involved in the 45th edition of the Florence-Faenza.

The 2017 100km del Passatore (May 27th-28th) is at the door and the expectations of the participations, those involved in the organization and the general public are, as always, very high. The record numbers of entries for recent years of 2,886 at the present time is without doubt a very good indication.
This year the Florence-Faenza is named the “Le vie del Sangiovese” (The ways of Sangiovese wine” and is promoted and organized by Faenza’s Associazione 100 Km del Passatore together with its namesake Society, as well as Uoei, Csen, Admo, Cai and the Wine Consortium of Romagna, the Local Councils of Faenza, Florence, Fiesole, Borgo San Lorenzo, Marradi and Brisighella, and the Provincial governments of Ravenna and Florence.
We wish to remind everyone that the event this year sees the collaboration of new partners Bcc Ravennate e Imolese and Banco Fiorentino, in addition to the “historic” partners Coop Alleanza 3.0, Natura Nuova, Decathlon, Moreno Motor Company, Friliver and technical sponsor Saucony.
As regards the good running of the ultra marathon called the “Passatore”, as well as the participation of the athletes there is as always the fundamental and well oiled organization of the Asd “100km del Passatore”, which brings together more than 500 volunteers, 23 refreshment stations and 20 ambulances along the course of the race, 11 stations staffed by medical specialists, 12 massage points, 16 fixed and mobile radio stations and 15 interpreters.
During the running of the event medical assistance will be assured to all the participants at the following localties: Florence, Saletta, Fiesole, Vetta le Croci, Polcanto, Faltona, Borgo San Lorenzo, Ronta, Razzuolo, Colla di Casaglia, Casaglia, Crespino, Marradi, Sant’Adriano, San Cassiano, Strada Casale, Fognano, Brisighella, Errano and Faenza.
The guarantors for the sanitary service are the Italian Red Cross at Faenza and the Misericordie of Florence and Faenza’s School for non medical Sanitary Operators.
Amongst the collaborators of the 100 Km del Passatore not yet mentioned, but no less important and in this cae involved above all in the running of the event we find the Ravenna provincial committee and the Florence Regional committee of CSEN, the Civil Protection of the Florence region, Faenza’s CAI and Civil Protection, Florence’s Infernal Run Association, the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri “Cimmarrusti” section of Borgo San Lorenzo, the Mountain community of the Mugello, C.S.I Faenza, the Polisportiva Fratellanza Popolare Valle del Mugnone, the G.S. Maiano, the G.P.A. Brisighella, the Atletica Marciatori of Mugello, the Circolo lo Stradone of Panicaglia, the Società polisportiva Ellera, the Associazione Turistica Pro Loco of Ronta, the Casa del Popolo Razzuolo, thje Associazione Costes Rifugio of Casaglia, the Società sportiva Crespino, the Unione sportiva Biforco, the Confraternita della Misericordia and the Club Sportivo Culturale Marradese, the Pro-Loco of Marradi, the Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri e l’Associazione Nazionale Alpini in Congedo of Marradi, the Associazione Sant’Adriano 2005, the Camino Verde of San Cassiano, the Circolo Parrocchiale of Fognano and the Circolo Parrocchiale di Errano.
The Mayor of Fiesole, Anna Ravoni, will be present at the city’s refreshment station as conformed during thr press conference held at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio on May 15th, last.
This year once again sees the collaboration of the organization of the 100 km del Passatore with Faenza’s Torricelli-Ballardini high school with the aim of including the event as a part of the “alternation school/work” programme according to Law 107/15 of the National “Good Schools” scholastic reform which sets a number of hours of work experience to be undertaken in the final years of school. The collaboration includes the use of young people in the operational centre, in the administrative offices, at the handing over of the racers’ packages at Florence, at the refreshment stations and in Faenza’s Piazza del Popolo for assisting the athletes.
