FOR THE FOURTEENTH TIME THE “PASSATORE” WILL AWARD THE FIDAL NATIONAL TITLES

Faenza, 11 November 2014

PRESS RELEASE No. 2

FOR THE FOURTEENTH TIME THE “PASSATORE” WILL AWARD THE FIDAL NATIONAL TITLES
The masters titles will also be awarded. Two hundred days from the race start (Saturday May 30th, 2015) enrolments to the “Florence-Faenza” have already hit 150 in only a few days.

FIDAL, the Italian National Athletics Federation has decided that the 43rd 100KM del Passatore on May 30th and 31st will award the national and Masters titles for the category of 100km road racing. It will be the fourteenth time that this has happened. In fact, the “Florence-Faenza” had previously hosted the titles from 1999 to 2006 and then from 2008-2013. The decision was especially appreciated by the Association 100KM del Passatore.

“We are well satisfied at this decision by FIDAL and we give them our heartfelt thanks,” affirmed the new President of the Association, Giordano Zinzani, “it confirms the great work undertaken in the last edition of the race, just as in previous editions, by the more than 500 volunteers and their respective associations that are involved with us. These volunteers, together with the cooperation of the local and regional government bodies and partner companies, have staged with passion, a sense of sacrifice and in their own free time, an event that is both sporting and social.

The organizational phases are proceeding at full speed with the collaboration of the “historic” bodies (the Wine Consortium of Romagna, the Società del Passatore, UOEI and ADMO), the local councils of Florence, Faenza, Fiesole, Borgo San Lorenzo, Marradi, Brisighella and its partner companies (Banca di Romagna-Gruppo Cassa di Risparmio di Cesena, Banca CR Firenze, Fondazione Banca del Monte Cassa di Risparmio, Antarex, Coop Adriatica, Friliver-Bracco, Decathlon, Hera, Moreno Motor Company, Natura Nuova and technical sponsor Saucony) with whom we are negotiating the final details.

In the meantime enrolment has begun and after only a few days enrolments we have already reached 150 at two hundred days before the race start. These include 20 female athletes and the first 10 foreign athletes from Australia, Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden and the United States.

The promoters hope to exceed the average enrolments of the last 10 years (over 1,6500 athletes), even though last year’s high turnout (2,198 starters and 1,738 finishers) gives us reason to hope for more.

Enrolment fees will be € 50.00 (including the €10.00 deposit for the micro chip) until January 15th, 2015, after which it will rise to € 65.00 from January 16th, 2015 till April 15th. Whereas as those who enroll from April 16th till May 20th (last day of enrolment) 2015 will pay a fee of € 85.00
